Welcome to our blog

by Christine McLaughlin

Welcome to the blog of the Trafford Green Party. These are exciting times for climate change activists, and campaigners for social justice.

Voters across Greater Manchester are currently voting on the Transport Innovation Fund proposals, which recommend extensive improvements to public transport in the region, the implementation of a congestion charge and a subsequent reduction in carbon emissions. The Trafford Green Party supports the TIF but recognises the need to take steps to reduce carbon emissions still further. Click here to read our response to the proposals. The Trafford Green Party was formed in 2006 and has quickly grown into a campaigning force to be reckoned with. One of our current campaigns involves Stretford Town Centre. We feel it is time for the Council to prepare a strategy for Stretford Town Centre to help create a place that we can be proud of and that will attract people to live, work and relax.Click here to find out more.

The European Elections in June 2009 look set to be a rewarding occasion for the Trafford Greens. Local interest suggests that our candidate Margaret Westbrook will be making a positive impact in the polls, while the Green Party nationally expects its best results yet.
